DTI sets price increase on basic, prime commodities

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Pangasinan has set new adjustments on suggested retail prices (SRPs) of selected basic necessities and prime commodities in view of the increasing cost of raw materials.

Prices of canned sardines, noodles, coffee refill and 3-in-1, processed canned beef, condiments and toilet soap have increased from one percent to seven percent.

Natalia Dalaten, officer-in-charge provincial director of DTI-Pangasinan, said the new list of SRPs updated on September 30 was based on the rising cost of the raw materials and packaging materials of the basic necessities and prime commodities.

Dalaten advised all the retailers in the province to check their prevailing prices from time to time to ensure that they are complying with SRPs and to avoid possible penalties provided under the Price Act. (PIA)
